    CNY post.....again

Well this year's CNY has been quite silent for me as both my parents will be away on an overseas trip. Yes, you got what I mean, no more big ang pows this year, Im still calculating the losses I have to endure this year. Well I couldn't be calculative. I should count my blessings that I have instead of that. Silly me.

However, I had (and still have) a time of learning to accept people as they are and forgiving each other through sincere reconciliation. The true spirit of CNY is actually practising a sense of unity and togetherness, and I need not say and you know that family ties should come first after all. Looking back at time, a short two days stay with my grandma have resolved and calmed my uncertain feeling about this place I belong to.Whatever people might comment or critic, I guess the right thing has been done, and we have did our best to let grandma to enjoy this new year.

Well, as promised, the pics of one of my humble CNY feast is out. Even though it is just my family and grandma, I simply treasure times like these, where we can finally sit down together and eat (come to think bout it we never did for the whole year). We simply owe my mother a sign of thanks for that hard work she put into the cooking. So delay no more... here are the pictures of the dinner we had last night:

Surimi abalone with braised mushrooms, hoe see, fattchoy and vegetables

Clockwise from top: Char Nyuk(hakka), squid curry(its great) and tomato prawn(also nice)

As you can see, I just love the way simple things are on the table, apart of less oil and fat, its simplicity churns out an unspeakable goodness when you start to eat.

It is simply the heart that you wear
It is simply the words that you say
It is simply the sense of togetherness
And not the food that you consume

These four sentences have been with me for a long time, and from it I try to remind myself to join in the family dinner table as often as I could and store it in my heart as a loving memory for years to come. For me, while baking the cookies, I realised one important thing you must have--- the heart to do it. Never bear grudge or anger, you just wont get it right in the end. I guess its another one of the things that life can teach us.

Thats all for today. I guess you could expect more and more things from my blog soon. Until I get back to my workplace. See ya!
